2002 News Archives Mind Over Machines CEO Chosen for China Trade Mission Wahsington, D.C. - September 17, 2002 - The United States Chamber of Commerce has selected Ronald Monford, President and CEO of Mind Over Machines, Inc., as one of 12 business delegates for a trade and investment trip to China, September 20–30. The business delegates will meet with Chinese political leaders and business executives during the 10-day trip, which is designed to facilitate business links between U.S. companies and representatives from China’s burgeoning private sector. "The face of trade in the United States is the face of a small business owner," said Leslie Schweitzer, Chamber senior trade advisor. "Over the past five years, the number of small businesses involved in exporting has doubled – and small businesses now account for 30 percent of all U.S. exports by dollar value." Mind Over Machines builds web-enabled database applications, from workflow applications connecting offices and firms, to consumer-oriented e-commerce sites, to time and attendance systems supporting tens of thousands of users in the federal government, and more. It also integrates CRM and HR solutions and boasts a full suite of accounting systems. Areas of expertise include custom software, web design and hosting, accounting and management systems, and network services. "We are an experienced exporter, but new to the Chinese market. Our information technology professionals can deliver systems that help clients create a competitive advantage and attract new customers," said Monford. The United States, China and the world economy stand to benefit tremendously from China’s accession to the World Trade Organization, according to the Chamber. Increasing the business contacts between the two countries through trade missions will help U.S. firms to get better market information, increased access to potential Chinese partners, and the technical help to close profitable business deals. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
